Our Story

Created by the partners of a decades-old art collectors group, Summit Art Advisory began formally conducting business over five years ago. Leveraging the many years of involvement in the field of fine art photography and broadening its scope of expertise in other mediums, SAA has evolved into a full-service art consultancy.

We remain committed to cultivating a playful enthusiasm for art. Simultaneously, we consistently adhere to the standards necessitated by working with rare, valuable, and fragile objects. As SAA has grown in size and breadth throughout the art world, we have continued to provide specialized service for our clients and friendly facilitation of relationships among artists, dealers, and institutions. For all of your fine art needs, Summit Art Advisory remains passionate about growing and refining the simple and human need for expression through art.


Our Team

Ray Merritt co-founded Summit Art Advisory and currently serves as Chief Executive Officer. Born and raised in New York City, Ray has collected photography for almost as long as he can remember. He brings a fervor for the art world to work every day, eager to help clients grow and manage their collections according to their individual needs. In addition to spending time with his wife and three kids, Ray enjoys skiing, water sports, playing tennis, paddle, and golf, and traveling.

Anne Merritt co-founded Summit Art Advisory and currently serves as President. Born and raised in New Jersey, Anne has appreciated and studied art since a very early age. After a successful career on Wall Street, Anne contributes a wonderful dynamic to the company. When not working, raising her three children, or volunteering as a local school district board member, Anne stays busy keeping Ray in line and enjoys reading, exercising, and the beach.

George Frangos serves as Executive Vice President leading the Business Development team. A native New Yorker, George traces his love of all things art to pre-school painting classes at MoMA. Respected and trusted, clients note that George is "fearless in doing the right thing" and always operates with the best interests of the client in mind. He possesses an in-depth understanding of the evolving digital landscape with particular expertise in digital marketing, web design and user experience. George lives in Manhattan with his wife and two sons.

John Cranley joined Summit Art Advisory in 2014 as a Senior Sales Associate. Born and raised in New Jersey, John provides the company with vast customer service experience that he brings from years in the financial services industry. After years of photography collecting, he has turned a part-time passion into a full-time profession. John stays busy playing paddle and golf and spending time with his five children.

Alka Jain joined Summit Art Advisory as a sales associate in 2016. Alka brings a wealth of knowledge and passion in art having studied at the Philadelphia Academy of Fine Art and is also a member of the Art Students League of New York. She is a longtime art photography collector and has decided to turn her artist's perspective into a full-time profession. Prior to joining SAA, Alka was an Adjunct Professor of Finance and a part time consultant to various small businesses in New Jersey. Alka holds an MBA in Finance from Olin School of Business at Washington University, St. Louis and Resides in Wilmington, Delaware with her husband, Pk and is the mother of three children. 

Matt Coote joined Summit Art Advisory in the spring of 2016 and serves as SAA's Client Relations Associate. Before joining SAA, Matt worked for filmmaker George Butler, helping him produce films and manage his extensive collection of photography. A Philadelphia-area native and graduate of Colgate University, Matt now lives in New York City and enjoys all of the arts and culture that the city has to offer. Matt has long been passionate about the arts and is an avid photographer in his free time.
